OFFICIAL COMMISIONING ON 5 APRIL 2007
AMKSS UG Council was first initiated on the 1st Nov 2006 by C/LTA Izuan and C/LTA Jonathan Sie, and have since developed into a more structured committee with 18 members.
This council is lead by a Teacher Officer as an advisor. The council consists of Cadet Officers, CCA Leaders, Cadet Specialists and Cadets from the 6 Uniformed Groups from Ang Mo Kio Secondary School. These uniformed groups are NCC Air, NCC Land, NPCC, Girl Guides, Red Cross Youth and Boys Brigade.
Through the UG Council activities, We aim to:
- Promote cohesion among all UGs.
- Inculcate the spirit of service to the school and community among cadets.
- Aspire and to inspire fellow cadets to take on leadership roles.
- Provide a platform for cadets to learn skills from other UGs.
The Council flag consists of 3 vertical bands of colours, blue on 2 sides, and white in the centre.
The features of the flag were not arbitrarily chosen. Each feature has its own distinctive meaning and significance.
Blue symbolizes the strong bond and unity among our cadets; white symbolizes purity and virtue.
Emblazoned upon the centre of the white panel is the council logo.
The council logo consists of the phoenix which represents never-dying spirit of the UG cadets.
The 6 wings of the phoenix represents the 6 different UGs. The AMKSS school logo in the phoenix significes that everyone is an amksian by heart.
